Want your Car To Look Like New All Year Round With Effortless Washing?

We Can Help Get More Of You Weekend Time Back

First things First :

You’re Probably Asking How Much Does It Cost?

Well not all ceramic coats are the same, you can buy inferior coatings from China which will last maybe 1 year or you can get a Professional grade coating as we use which is imported from Glasgow and been tried and tested in Australia to suit our harsh conditions, and guaranteed for 5years. Or you may go to someone that may use a good product but don’t have the experience Knowledge or equipment to give you the results you hoped for, we have had many clients come to us after choosing someone to apply a ceramic coat only to be left disappointed and disheartened with the end result, then have us fix the mess and apply the coating properly, costing them much more in the long run because usually the cheaper places don’t want to know you once they have collected their money.

What is a ceramic coat?

A ceramic coat, also known as a nano-ceramic coating, is a liquid polymer that is applied to outer surfaces of vehicles, boats, and planes to protect the paint from scratches, wear and UV rays. It creates a layer that bonds to the paint, providing a protective clear coat that reduces dirt buildup and makes it easier to clean. Ceramic coatings offer a long-lasting solution for maintaining a vehicle’s appearance and can last up to five years, depending on the quality of the product and how well it is maintained.

Myths About Ceramic Coats :

You may have heard CLAIMS from a dealership or even read these claims on the internet somewhere, about ceramic coats are nearly as hard as a DIAMOND ( based on the MOHS scale) or a ceramic coat will stop STONE CHIPS, or perhaps you heard its SCRATCH PROOF or you never have to wash your car again. Yes these are just some of the CRAZY CLAIMS people make to sell a product just to make a sale. So how can you prepare yourself against these Snakes that don’t really care about YOU! Well don’t worry because I am going to help YOU cut through all the BS so you can make a well INFORMED/ EDUCATED decision.

THE 4 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CERAMIC COATINGS

1: As briefly described above a ceramic coat is an SIO2 liquid polymer layer which chemically bonds to the surface of your vehicle’s paint, depending on what product is used this layer can be 1micron to 2 microns thick per layer for a consumer grade coating, this is usually determined easily by how long the coating will last, in these cases the life span is generally 1-2yrs as we move up to professional grade ceramics the thickness is usually 5-6 microns and has a guarantee of 5yrs or more if well maintained.

2: The hardness of a ceramic coat is NOT anywhere near as hard as a diamond, you may have heard or read about a ceramic coating being a 9H HARDNESS and its based on the MOHS SCALE ( even the internet is flooded with this information, but if this was true then it would be near impossible to scratch right!) the true scale its refering to is the GREY LEAD PENCIL scale, meaning its as hard as a 9H grey lead. Whilst this is much harder than a vehicle’s paint it’s a far cry from a diamond.

3: A ceramic coat is not SCRATCH PROOF, it’s scratch resistant. A professional grade coating will provide a much better level of scratch resistance compared to the consumer 1-2yr coatings, this is due to the higher durability of a professional coating being much thicker which means it has a much higher solids composition. A ceramic coat can dramatically reduce the introduction of fine scratches and swirls on the vehicle if properly maintained giving you that new car look for yrs and help keep the resale value at it’s best.

4: So by now you will have realized that a ceramic coat will NOT STOP STONE CHIPS, it won’t even help reduce them, what it will do is provide an excellent barrier between dust , dirt, road grime, tar, UV, bird poo, insect splatter and water spot damage. It will add an excellent barrier to protect the paint and make washing your vehicle effortless and time saving and less of a chore, allowing you to spend more time doing what you want.

3 FATAL MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE WHEN THE SALESMAN UPSELLS A CERAMIC COAT

#1 The number 1 reason you shouldn’t buy in to a ceramic coat from the dealership is THEY SIMPLY DON’T CARE about you, if they truly cared about you they would employ someone who actually knows what a ceramic coat is and not only know but have been trained hands on to install it. Unfortunately people get sucked in to their spiel, on how great it is and all the benefits blah blah blah. Yet they most likely won’t even have it on their own car, so how can they say its the best thing to have yet they most likely don’t have it them-self? If by chance they say they do then insist on having a look at their car so you can see how it looks. These sales people will regurgitate what they have read off the brochure to sound like they know what they are talking about. Another reason not to buy their UPSELL is they will probably suggest they can add it on to the LOAN REPAYMENT for an extra $10 a week ( the cost of 2 coffee’s)or something like that, this is a big NO NO in my book, as you will be paying way more than it’s worth long term but it’s a great sales pitch for them to SELL SELL SELL.

BONUS TIP

When they start saying how great it is and all the bells and whistles why you should have their product, ask them WHAT’S THE PROCESS? Ask them what do they do to the vehicle to prepare it for the coating installation, what’s the step by step process, how long does it take? this will most likely have them on the back foot trying to avoid the answer because they simply won’t know, or they may give a very vague answer and move on to something else.

A professional detailer will answer this with complete confidence in detail so you have instant trust in them to do the installation right.

#2 The next reason not to buy a ceramic coat from a dealership is, they will tell you it’s a LIFE TIME GUARANTEE, this would have to be one of the biggest pieces of misinformation Ever, a ceramic coat will not last forever/lifetime ( read the fine print of the terms and conditions which has small print only an ant could read and it’s pages long). Again it’s all about the hard sell to them, providing you with misleading information to make an un-informed/ rash decision.

#3 Ok so the honest truth about a ceramic coat and why it can be a great option, as mentioned already a ceramic coat is much harder than the vehicle’s paint which will reduce the chances of scratches and swirls keeping that new car appearance. Because it’s a glass like coating water, dust and dirt simply won’t stick to the surface as easily because the coating helps level/ smooth out the paint surface and provide a slick finish. Water will bead/run off the vehicle taking some of that dirt with it, there’s no need to polish or wax the vehicle so you get to spend more time doing the fun things ( unless you enjoy washing, polishing and waxing your vehicle on a regular basis) I use to love spending a full day detailing my car but life is far more busier than ever before to waste so much time and effort when I could be out enjoying the little free time I get. With a ceramic coat it’s a simple wash and go process once a week or fortnight to have a car that always looks like new. There’s no need to use a chamois to dry the vehicle, if you own a leaf blower you can simply blow the water off leaving a clean dry finish without the chance of introducing any scratches. If you live by the coast/ salt air a ceramic coat will provide excellent protection from salt air contaminating/damaging your paint, any damage that may be caused by not regularly washing the vehicle, it will only be the coating that’s damaged rather than the paint meaning it can be stripped back and a new coat applied keeping the paint safe from damage and helping with the resale value when it comes time to sell.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER A PROFESSIONAL COATING

IS A CERAMIC COAT THE BEST CHOICE FOR ME?

This is where you need to make that all important INFORMED DECISION, by now you should have enough information to decide whether a ceramic coat is the right fit for you! if you don’t really care about your vehicle and it’s purely a means of getting from point A to point B then it’s most likely not something you will need/want or worry about, if you love spending hrs at a time on your vehicle washing, polishing, cleaning and waxing then it’s most probably not the best fit for you either, but if you are like myself ( yes it sounds a little ironic coming from a detailer) I want simplicity when it comes to washing my cars so i have more time to spend with my family and friends enjoying life while maintaining a clean car with minimal effort.

If you do think a ceramic coat is the right fit for your needs then seek a professional detailer and pay them to do it right, a reputable detailer will provide the best possible service as it’s their reputation going on that installation, they will spend the time with you and listen to what your needs are and provide you with options.
